Considered one of the region’s most highly respected legal strategists and advisors, Madeline focuses her practice in employment law, working with clients across many industries and providing expert counsel on a broad range of issues. Her clients range from small businesses and startups, to Fortune 500 companies and international corporations. Her core practice lies in helping clients develop and implement sound business policies and practices involving their most valuable asset, their employees, which allow those businesses to succeed and thrive in today’s global marketplace.

In an effort to keep her clients ahead of the game, Madeline has evolved her practice to include strategy development and legal counsel in the areas of data security and data forensic law. With a keen understanding of the far-reaching legal implications of a data breach, she works with clients to build teams comprised of in-house IT, human resources, executive management and outside consultants and specialists to prevent, address and contain the threat of digital mayhem and data breach, inside organizations. She evaluates the legal implications of cyber threats and difficult personnel decisions to determine the appropriate course of action and limit liability.

A recipient of numerous awards and recognitions, Madeline was named a Top Lawyer of 2020 by San Diego Magazine in the categories of data security/forensic law and employment law and recognized as a Leading Woman in the Law by The American Lawyer. She was named one of San Diego’s Top 50 Influentials by the San Diego Daily Transcript, and was a finalist for San Diego Magazine’s Woman of the Year Award. In 2022, she was recognized and featured as a top woman law firm leader by the American Bar Association Journal. She received the YWCA’s Tribute to Women & Industry award and was recognized by the San Diego Business Journal as a finalist for the publication’s new CyberSecurity Award, recognizing the firm’s unique data security and forensic law practice.

Madeline currently serves on the Cybersecurity Advisory Board for California State University San Marcos’ (CSUSM) Cybersecurity Professional Science Master’s Program. A frequent speaker at national seminars, Madeline provides expert insight into the ever-changing landscape of employment law, data security from a human resources perspective and best practices in the legal industry. She was also recognized by her peers in the milestone 30th edition of The Best Lawyers in America® for her exceptional work in Employment Law – Management.
